Teething?

Hi, I am probably wrong as i have been told he is too young but here goes - Thomas is 9weeks and is dribling everywhere and really trying to bite his hands, i've tried looking at his gums and can't see anything that looks sore but then it was difficult to get him to keep his mouth open and sit still lol i know they can show early signs of teething it can last for months until the tooth appears, thankfully he doesn't seem to be in pain but he is usually ok witout his dummy unless he is hungry or tired but everytimes i take it away or it falls out he gets really ratty and he is really chewing it? has anyone else had this problem or could it be something else?
