Got my date for first antenatal appointment

I got all my paperwork through from the hospital, my first appointment is on 15th July and I cant wait! Not having a scan at this appointment but they advised on the letter that I will be there for at least 3 hours!!!! Have booked the whole day off work as the appointment is at 9.30am. I am assuming it will just be urine tests, blood tests, meet midwife etc but am not sure. Was hoping for a scan as had a m/c last year and cant stop stressing that something bad will happen. Also, is anyone on here rhesus negative blood group? I know that both myself and OH are and was wondering what effect this has on pregnancy xxx

hi i was at the hospital about 3 hours they did blood hight weight and urine my bf came with me as they need to know all his medical history i had my scan at 9 and a half weeks!! try not to worry about it i am sure u will be fine as u know stressing will not help! i am rhesus neg and it aint coused me any probs at all u have more scans which is fab and u should be offerd a anti d injection i am 27+6 weeks now and i get mine next thursay it just means that if your rhesus neg and your oh is and u baby is not your body could reject your baby this is why its important to have it but your m/w will explain all xxx
OK cool so mostly do what I thought at the appointment then. I was given that injection after my m/c last year as they said it would protect any future children, they gave me the shot in my bum and it hurt like hell! Thanks for all the info, will definitely speak to the m/w at the appointment and find out more xxx

Wow 3 hours!!! Sounds like a right epic! I had a 15 minute appointment at first where they advised me of what not to eat and how to exercise etc. My second appointment was 1 hour and they did what you have desribed. Well they must be thorough that's all i can say, have fun! x
