Maternity Pads

I'm thinking about sorting my hospital bag out and i've been buying slim maternity pads from mothercare everytime i go in there, but they also do thick pads too,are the slim ones just as good,as i feel i'd be more comfortable in the thin ones rather then the think ones, but will i need thick ones as well?? also how many should i take into hospital and how long till i can use normal sanitry towels after the birth?

U def need the thick ones, i didn't bleed much but had stitches and wouldn't have been able to sit down if i hadn't had the tick pads! U will be sore after birth and the thick ones help the pain loads xx

Yep, what the other 2 said. Thick ones are a must. Esp after an episiotomy, they're more comfy. FOr the firsy day or 2, I was wearing two of the thick ones as I was bleeding loads! x

slim ones are great after a couple of weeks but believe me you need the thick ones to start with! apart from the obvious reason to need them they are also much better to protect bruised bits and stitches - if you are unlucky enough to need them. normal sanitary pads have plastic liners in which are not good for recovering perineums either. and if you only take one packet to hospital with you then you can use theirs if you run out as they are fab!

I didn't think I would really want to use the thick ones either. Then I gave birth! You need them, I used them for at least about a week I think. I used boots ones, they were great. I then moved on to the thin ones, only had one packet of them so just used sanitary towels after that. I really would reccommend the thick ones though.
