First Antenatal Appointment Today

Glad I am not the only one that has happened too!! My right arm is going black today. I have passed out a few times with blood tests but this was the worst one I have had in quite a long time. Next blood test I am going to make sure I eat loads before I go in and see if that helps. Oooh so your scan is just before mine! Good luck I hope it all goes well. Will let you know how I get on at the EPU. I am feeling a lot better now thank you hun, the extra scans are really putting my mind at rest xxxx

Oh my god that was the same for me. I had my bloods taken and they couldn't get anything out of my right arm so then did it on my left arm but i suddenly felt really sick and had to run out into the fresh air. I felt so hot and also had ringing in my ears. I had to sit on the floor before i fell down. I felt really stupid coz i thought the m/w thought i was a wimp about the blood but i really don't mind having my bloods done. After i had a big black bruise on both arms. I looked like a junkie and they lasted for a whole week. I have got my 12 week scan on 5th August which is my anniversary i cant wait. Hope your appointment at the epu goes well. Couldn't believe it when i read your post. xxxx

I am always really rubbish at blood tests. I have passed out loads of times before but really thought I was going to be ok today. I had a hot chocolate afterwards and a muffin which initially helped but feeling bad again. Think I am going to try a fizzy drink. Feeling a nauseous too which is not helping! xx

Oooh nooooo! Ive got my appt on Weds. Im cr@p at blood tests at the best of times! Ive never fainted tho and I hope I don't start now! my mum faints pretty easily, it always leaves her feelin bad for the rest of the day. She always has a coke (I think any sugary drink would do) afterwards to get her sugar levels back up. She also uses a cold flannel, but she puts it on the back of her neck. I would try those to and see if it helps at all. Hope your feelin better soon, and congrats on scan xx

Went for my first appointment at the hospital today. Was there at 9.20am and didn't get seen until 11am, felt like a life time!!! Got weighed, measured, had a chat with the midwife, urine tested.... all pretty much routine. Booked my 12 week scan its on the 10th August, a week before my birthday and I cant wait! Got one next Friday at the EPU though so looking forward to that. Last thing they did today was my blood tests. They couldn't get any blood from my right arm so tried the left and eventually got some, it really hurt! Then all of a sudden felt really sick, hot, light headed, started to get ringing in my ears...... next thing I woke up with 4 women around me, cold flannel on my head, fan in my face... passed out cold!!! Been feeling like crap ever since :( xxx
