hiya everyone. I bought the mothercare ultimate collection travel cot a few weeks ago and my 6 month old baby boy has his naps during the day in it and he seems fine with it.
My mother in law in ireland is saying that her other daughter in laws travel cot has hard mattress and has bought a separate mattress for it and thinks i should do the same?
I think perhaps she may have bought a cheap travel cot or something, mine was about £80. But feel mean now in case i have been putting my baby to nap in an uncomfortable place??
Any thoughts/advice would be appreciated.
thanks xx
There's nothing wrong with the mattress inside the cot - Mothercare do a travel cot mattress that just sits on top of what you have if you want some extra padding. Beware of thick "travel cot" mattresses that are sold as they can raise the baby up too high making the cot unstable if they lean against the side or lean over the top. You have a quality product so don't feel mean at all!
Does it feel soft to you? There are many different types and brands of travel cots and if your baby is sleeping fine in it and you paid a £80 and its from mothercare, a well known retailer chances are its fine, dont feel bullied into buying something you dont need if what you've got is already working so well. x
