I've just had an app. date for ivf and with it all the info on whether you want to donate eggs, sperm etc for research. I know its quite a personal choice, but wondered what other people thought?
Wow thats a tricky one, not thought about that before! I think a lot of people are put off doing this because they have an idea of mad scientists making weird creations!! They are restricted as to what they can do by law but need the raw materials for all sorts of medical research - its going to be your call, perhaps have a chat with them about it to make the choice more straightforward. Dont feel you have to do it, if you arent comfortable just dont do it!! Let us know what happens, and good luck with the IVF - when will you be going for your apt?x
My app is on the 22nd Sept, and from what I can gather its just signing the consent forma and discussing some treatment options(had all the other tests). It's a hard choice with the research, if people don't do it I wouldn't be getting the help I need. It's definitely a no for fertilised eggs though. Will have to keep reading the info they sent and really think about it. xc
