I'm not supposed to know!!

I need to sit down with my bosses and discuss maternity leave. Now i have worked here 10 years and there is no structure about additional maternity pay but i was told by someone that an ex employee (same position as me) got a really good maternity package. Now if my bosses do not offer me one (and i don't expect they will) i will be very annoyed but should i mention that i know they gave someone else a good package as i am not supposed to know!! Arrggghhhh i dont want to get anyone in trouble but then why should they give some people good maternity pay and not others!! Would you bring it up????

Hi There,

I'm 15 weeks +3 and work in a school and will soon be writing my letter about maternity leave etc. Is it right that for the first 6 weeks i'll get 9 tenths of my salary then nothing? Just wandered if any body else worked in a school and had any advice as I thought you could get other money?

Yes,i would. But thats just me - i wouldn't want to miss out on something,if it;'s good enough for someone else then why not you!!!!
If you don't ask, you'll never know!
They can only say no and you'll get the basic mat leave package.
