Hoping to be a dad too (next May), I've given up alcohol for the duration (difficult over Christmas but otherwise not so). My wife seems to think I don't need to give it up so it might tax my self control, but a bit of self discipline never hurt anyone.

hey 2 all u dads!! hope u n ur partners r doin well wiv the pregnancys! im a woman!! ooo scary lol!! if u ave any questions feel free 2 ask me! i ave a 2yr old son called harley n identical twins of 16wks old amaris n lyla! iv had a natural birth n c-section wiv the twins! so iv dun it both ways! lol! fink its gr8 avein dads on ere aswell! mayb i cld ask u questions as sumtimes i find my other half hard work lol!!! but i love him 2 bits! hes a gr8 dad! :@)
Hi there newcomers. I am also nervous, but it shifts focus onto different things. RIght now, with our 12-week scan tomorrow morning, I am worried that the baby is okay. If it is, I'll shift right back to worrying about the birth/money etc.
I am looking forward to telling people about it though!

Im also a Dad to be! my wife is 17 weeks pregnant,
im 27 years old and this will be my first child.
Am i alone in the fact that im really nervous at this stage?
i really don't know what to expect!.
I think its really great to speak to other dads and dads to be to get some idea how and what to expect.
so how many dads ae actually on here. ive seen a few knockin about but will be good to have our own area, bit like a garden shed ;-)

I'm a prospective dad (my wife is 7 weeks and 3 days!). I'm 35 and have wanted a child for a while. We decided not to use contraception and we got pregnant straight away. I was delighted and have probably been a bit over the top since. I'm the one logging-on to websites, buying pregnancy magazines. My wife comes to me for info about pregnancy do's and don'ts, which is quite funny.
However, I have not offered to give up alcohol – that would be disastrous! But I am helping around the house more and trying to make things easier for my wife.
I'm just very very excited by the whole thing.
cool more dads than i thought. hello to you all. i didn't offer to give up alcohol but then as those who know me know i was too busy freaking out but im over that now and it sounds like a nice idea. i might try it. how are you getting on with it?
