Urine infection

Hi all, I have been suffering from a terrible urine infection, i know this can be common in early pregnency. The doctor gave me "Keflex" 500mg capsules, Cefalexin PhEur antibiotics to help clear this up. My sister has now got me really worried, she thinks the doctor has made a mistake and is shocked that he gave me anything as no antibiotics are safe during pregnancy, has anyone else heard this?

Hi!I am6months preg now&have had2urine infections so far.Both times my doc prescribed me a set of penicillin-based anti-biotics.had2take1tablet 3times a day4 5days&it cleared then!I can't remember the name of the anti-biotics but my doc reassured me they were safe to take during pregnancy.I wouldn't worry too much,your doc would never prescribe you something that may prove harmful to the baby!X

I had a Urine infection when i was roughly 6 weeks, and was given Keflex Tablets, it cleared it up. And im not 21 weeks! :)

I had those twice during pregnancy & all was fine.

Hope you are feeling better soon - urine infections are horrible.

hiya, im not sure about this specific antibiotic but some are safe as i had amoxocillian during pregnancy. i also doubted if i could take it but checked with miswife and on internet. you could try googling it?
