any advice please?

I literally had to read this twice, im in absolute shock that anyone would do this - let alone a SIX YEAR OLD! Theres no way a child of that age would do it whilst playfighting, and especially as you said it was bleeding too! (Your poor son, that must have bloody killed!) If that was me i would certainly not be happy with the punishment the school is giving him, he definitely deserves a lot more. Bet hes got the kind of parents who couldnt give a cr@p what he did. It really is disgusting to read the stories of other peoples children and what they've had done to them; what irratates me most is that the parents never usually care. I know if any of my children did anything like that they wouldnt be hearing the end of it anytime soon. Think you need to go back into school and see whats been happening xx

This is a serious bullying incident, and there is no way the school should treat it lightly. Every school is meant to have a bullying policy in place, which they can then show to parents. You can ask for the details of this to satisfy yourself that they have met the requirements in dealing with the incident. If you are not satisfied you can go to the school Governors, or the local authority. You are entitled to demand reassurances that these incidents will not happen again. However, this is obviously upsetting for you in a number of other ways. You are bound to be distressed by the fact your little boy has been hurt and frightened, but you need to keep calm and not act as though this is the end of the world. Give him lots of comfort and attention, and listen to anything he wants to say about it, but don’t keep going back to it or forcing him to keep going over it if he doesn’t want to. There is also the extra distressing aspect of it being his private parts, and that is certainly worrying for another boy to behave in that way, and does seem very concerning about where he would learn such behaviour. You could ring the NSPCC helpline on 0808-800-5000. This is a free 24-hour service, which can provide counselling, and information, and advice. Above all, reassure your son that this is no way his fault, that the other boy was very naughty and wrong to behave like that, and that he must tell you immediately if he is threatened in any way again, and that you will always be there for him to listen to his worries and help.

thats what i mean- how the hell can you accidently bite someone there?!?! and all that nasty little g!t gets for it is missing a few playtimes?! unbelievable.... x x

I think that the schools response was not acceptable at all... a few play times! Keep a close eye hun to make sure that the are doing everything that they can. Hope your little boys bits are all back to normal now ;) x

he was bitten on the groin and thats playfighting?! is this child moonlighting as a pitbull?! he misses playtime for a week?! how much playtime did your poor son mss after being bitten?! you're so right its not much is it? no wonder so many kids are scared to go to school? hope that nasty little bug ger leaves your son alone now x x

they said they were play fightihg and it got out of hand. they have given him a warning and if he does anythin else hes out the school and hes missin playtime 4 a week and they called his parents in the school,...... nothin much is it..

maybe im just odd then because i would hope that if my kids did something like this that the kids parents would feel they could talk to me and wed sort it out,i know not all parents are very reasonable and it annoys the hell out of me when some people think the sun shines out their kids backside,but no kid no matter whos it is,is an angel.
i hope you get something sorted one way or another hun,but i def wouldnt stand for it and gotta be honest,if the teachers wouldnt sort it out i woudl advice mine to hit them back too!give them a taste of their own medicine!
