I have a question, my little girl she is 6 weeks on thurdays and every since she was 2 weeks she has had to sleep sitting up because she seems to choke when she lays down flat, but she is fine when she is out in the parm laying down! We have dogs could it be that? my other little girl is fine. At first i throught it was a cold but it has gone on so long now! Any ideas why this is happening? x
Hi it is not normal for babies to choke when they are lying down and therefore the only advice I can offer is for you to take her to the GP’s as soon as possible. Sorry I can’t be of any further help.

hi hun, my two boys had the same prob and we found out that the flap that covers your windpipe when you eat (the larynx) was floppy and made them choke and snore when laid flat so used to prop them up. i dont know if this is wat it is with ur little angel but if so it is nothing to worry about and will sort itself out as she grows. hope that has shed a little bit of light! good luck and enjoy her xxx
I wonder if you can record or get a tape/cd of running wateror sea and play it very low in her room. My 2 used to love soft rock !! x
yeah she is feeding ok, 4oz every 2-3 hours (thinking about hungry babies milk) She sneeze alot! and yes she is sick after her feed but just a little! She doesnt seem like she has a cold no runny nose no nothing! But if she did have a cold would she of had it for 4 weeks? xx We have the window open at night for fresh air, we have bn sleeping down stairs for the last 5 weeks and have just gone upstairs yesterday, she wouldnt sleep in slince she like the sound of runny water (we have a fissh tank in the lounge) but she wont sleep that long like she did downstairs! xx
lol monkeymoo.. dont be daft x Belinda forgot to say.. is she feeding ok? x
It could be reflux, a sign of this is that babies are sick when they lie down flat. Is she sick after her milk? Mention it to the health visitor and see what she says. It could be an allergy to the dogs if she also sneezes a lot, has runny eyes etc
If it was me I'd take her to the doctors....but then I'm a neurotic first time mum :o)
Hey hun. Has she got a cold or sniffly? Could be mucus running down the back of her throat. Try getting two thick books but wide ones. and prop the head and of the cot up and she if that works. Maybe either turn down or turn off her radiator in the room in which she sleeps and air it out every day by opening the window. Most babies are a bit snuffly, especially this time of yr whn the wather is soo changable xx
