Hi. My little boy is now 6 months old and up to last week really liked bath time. He's enjoy kicking his legs about, playing with the ducks and splashing daddy and myself. The last few times we've bathed him he's been screaming the house down. He seems to know that he's going to have a bath from the minute my husband picks him up. I've even tried to carry him to the bathroom to see if that makes a difference but the minute he gets to the door he starts screaming. He'll scream until he's out of the bath. Has anyone else had this problem and if so, did you find anything which helped? Thank you
Gurgle expert Liz Costagliola says 'For whatever reason (and you may never find out what it is) your baby has suddenly taken a dislike to baths. It may be worth not bathing him for a week or to give him time to forget about his fear. In the meantime just top and tail him. When you do start bathing him again maybe get in the bath with him to make feel secure. Make sure the water isn’t too cold. Sometimes parents are so anxious not to have the water too hot, that in fact it is too cold and this can be distressing for the baby. Take care.
Liz'
