Hi hon, I'm so sorry to hear about poor Finley's reflux. I can sympathise with the night feeds too though, Max is up usually twice in the night. He's also breastfed and 5 1/2 months and I'm counting the days till he sleeps through the night.
Hope the solids help xx
Thanks. Finley's now 5 months and 1 week and after a long chat with the HV we decided to start weaning him to see if it will help his weight, hunger and sickness. We're only on day 4 but he's loving it! We've just been giving him a fruit baby rice and I'm going to start some pureed veg tonight. I kind of feel defeated as I didn't start my daughter on solids til 6 months but I know it's best for him. Thanks for your support everyone x
Aw Hon, I'm sorry you've had to put him on solids early, i know its really not what you wanted. I'm sure Finley will pile on the pounds now! x
My little girl had awful colic/reflux from about 3 months. She was on gaviscon too and was breast fed. It was the most awful time ever and we never thought it was going to end. However, the turning point was definetly when we started her on solids, the paediatrician advised us to do it slightly early because of her situation and it worked a treat. I can totally sympathise with what you're going through, just try and keep strong, I promise you will get there!!

I feel similar to you- my little one has always been fed every 2 hours in the day but was doing alright at night-then it went to every 3 hours at night feeding from both sides and now its jjust whenever. he's underweight and dropped off his line so i had to give him 1 bottle a day- worked for about 2 nights now its back to every 1-2 hours! im knackered with a 2 yr old and this time change!!! NOw he's started teething he's waking up all the time and i just keep feeding him cos im so tired but as soon as i put him down he cries again! im determined tonight i wont just keep feeding him but we'll see what happens in the middle of the night when im tired and worried about my toddler waking up!
keep going and hopefully the month will go quickly!!!
Hi everyone! I'm a newbie here - just read ur article and its made me realise we're not alone! Our little darling baby leo is 17 weeks tomorrow and has reflux - its very very hard sometimes, he seems in so much distress - then it will ease off for a few days, then return.
I have no idea why it comes and goes, there is no pattern to it - and we have tried the gaviscon but I'm not happy to keep using it, so have stopped for a few weeks now. There wasnt much difference when he took it anyway to be honest, I think it made his wind worse. Anyway - we breast and bottle feed, use the hipp organic one as its meant to be gentle. I get the feeling he's better when I try to BF more but he's just so hungry and putting weight on well with the combination of both.
Like you probably we've tried everything. I carry him round in a sling so much my back aches! I've wondered is it because we dont co-sleep? He sleeps well thankfully, but its in his own little cot - and I wondered whether he gets unsettled when he wakes on his own?
Any advice anyone could give would be so gratefully received

Hiya, I can't imagine how awful it is for you. It must have been going on for a long time now. Are you allowed to start giving him baby rice? Just wondered if this would help as you say 'until he starts solids'. Agree with katethegr8 you sound like you are doing really well. Is there a chance you could express so that someone else could feed him in the night and you could get a couple more hours? I guess as the HV is on top of it, you have already discussed this, just thought I'd mention it in case
