Breastfeeding number 2!

Hi, I am due my second baby in 2 weeks, my LO will be 15 months. I plan to breastfeed again if possible but am a bit worried about how i will manage this with My older child being so young still? I breast fed Isaac but he was a very slow feeder, sometimes taking 45 mins plus winding time etc..If this baby is the same i cant see how i will manage to breastfeed without 'neglecting' Isaac as he is too young to understand why i wont be able to play with him and i dont want him feeling left out with the arrival of the new baby. any tips/ideas on how i can give breastfeeding a go without my LO craving attention? Thanks in advance xx

i think you just need 2 encourage and treat the older child the same and involve them as much as possible i bottle fed my daughter and she took up to an hour to take 2oz and be winded so it isnt neccacerily quicker to bottle feed i plan 2 breastfeed this time round tho as i tried with my daughter and she wanted 2 but i have inverted nipples and need shields but wen i asked my midwife where to get them wen i had my daughter she treated me like an idiot and i was 2 nervous 2 ask any1 else but ive got everything sorted this time and im alot more confident not a walkover like wen i had my little girl

I was too, its normal lol yeah we used to do that too. Just one good tip always put your first, first the baby will soon learn that he/she will have to wait, its just so he doesnt get jealous, i would be holding the baby and she would come over tell me to put the baby in the bouncer so she could have a hug then 5mins later she would be off again then i could get back to the baby lol, do u know what u are having? x

hello my little one was 17 months when my second was born, i manged to breastfeed all i did was made sure i had some water food for her next to me so when she asked for something i didnt have to get up and her favourite cartoon on which is mickey mouse clubhouse (she loves it) it didnt take her long to understand that i was feeding her. i used to say this is faith special milk, and sometime i would catch her lifting her top up and feeding her babies the same way it was so cute lol. Hope this helps x
Thanks! Snacks are a great idea, hopefully wont see isaac trying to breastfeed his postman pat teddy though, lol! he loves his books too so i may try getting him to sit up with us and have a read? Think im just getting nervous about the new arrival!
