I even did a pregnancy test last week just incase but thankfully it was negative!! Right now i'm just wondering why it's taking so long?

Hey everyone, thanks for replying, just wanted you all to know that i started my period today! Woo Hoo!!
Mine didn't come back until 8 weeks after i stopped breastfeeding, i was worried so called HV and she said can take anything up to a few months... Xx
mine returned after 5 weeks of stopping BF - think everyone is different.. personally i want another baby to stop them again! lol
First period usually occurs some time after the baby is weaned from the breast- or when breast feeding is reduced because of either supplimenting with a bottle or with solids. It does not happen immediately even if you never breast feed! Because your period is at the end of the first cycle four weeks after stopping breast feeding is about the minimum! Expect your body to take a bit of time after weaning from the breast before kickstarting that first cycle.
But ofcourse you are more fertile once you stop breast feeding and ovulation comes (or usually comes) before your first potential period. Early cycles are not always fertile cycles and so may be a little less regular.

Well, I have a 38 weeks old baby.(9 months)
I am still brestfeeding and I had my first period yesterday!
I was happy the way it was myself.lol.
And I am definetely not pregnant as I am a single mum.
But,if you are not single and do not want another little one right now. Be careful.
Mine took around 6-8 weeks to return after breastfeeding for a year. (cant remember exactly as was 3 years ago now!) x
