hi you are not alone my baby slept maybe half an hour each day, wen she was 10 weeks its just recently that she has started sleeping more and has about 3 hours now just some babies sleep more than others, my other daughter was a brilliant sleeper and still is, she could sleep through an earthquake, but my baby is an extremely light sleeper the slightest movement and she wakes up. try not to worry about it, as for the weaning it could just make baby more bunged up just increase the milk feed
Sorry for not responding earlier couldn't find your thread.
Formula milk for hungrier babies is not as easily digested than the normal milk and i would be reluctant to recommend it especially as your baby is only 10 weeks old.
I agree with the previous post to give your baby more of his regular milk if he wants it.
If I think back to my own children at this age they were starting to have one long nap during the day at about lunch time and awake for most of the day.
I don't think what you are descibing is in any way unusual or a reason to start weaning baby just yet.

so what would you suggest? hungrier milk? just wish he would sleep better during the day, he constantly fights it, so thats why i thought he wasn't getting enough from his feeds.
I don't really think there's a problem if he's sleeping well at night, some babies just don't sleep a lot through the day. I think it's quite common for a second baby to sleep less as there's a lot going on. My second never slept as much as my first. If he's hungry then I'd just give him a little more milk, feeding 2-3 hourly at 10 weeks isn't uncommon.
Hi,
Let me introduce myself, I am Alison Brown one of the gurgle experts, I am a midwife and answer some of the questions that come up on the site.
I have just notice your thread and thought I would offer some advice.
Weaning is not advised until about 6 months as the digestive system is still maturing. If you do decide to start earlier remember solid food should never be given before 4 months and speak to your health visitor first.
Babies who seem hungrier before this time are usually having a growth spurt. Growth spurts often occur at around 7-10 days, 2-3 weeks, 3 months and 4 months.
Your baby’s regular milk should see them through this time and has exactly the right balance of nutrients they need to support the growth spurt.
Giving them anything else will stop them from getting the nutrients needed as they will not be able to digest it so easily.

10 weeks is too early to start weaning imo. I haven't used formula so I can't really comment. If it were me, I'd rather add an oz of formula than introduce solids. I just learnt a new trick to get my LO to sleep during the day......we put the hairdryer on for a few minutes and he nods off!!!
