do you lie about your children?

hehe havnt ever lied bout something lily can do, my ex MIL annoyed me so much by comparing lil to her 2 kids i couldnt bring myself to do it- god forbid i ended up reminding people of her!!! eeek! but lily is responsible for whole load of stuff i wanted to get out of doing. god, i love her, having kids is the best innit? x

Aww... I think you're being a bit harsh on yourself. As someone else said, it's perfectly normal to be proud of your children no matter what and to be wanting to defend them no matter what. And the thing with porkies is, they come out quicker than you'd thought about it in detail. My mum and her sister (my aunt) gave birth 11 days apart and they were in constant competition about me and my cousin (we're both girls). I'm not sure it's something you actively do, its just something that happens. You'll be proud of your kids no matter what, so if someone else is slightly smug about their kids development it might bug you a bit. I wouldnt worry about it and just be proud of how things are. I really wouldnt worry about the lie you told today. The thing is people lie and exaggerate ALL the time, they will always make out things are better than they are, only rarely will you find people who will admit to you face to face that things arent all that great. In regards to your kids, I'm sure they'll be doing fine and won't be going to prison:) x.x.x

I rembember when I had my first daughter, a friend of mine had hers around the same time,( about 3 wks apart) and she was always going on and on about her daughter could do. In the end it just really peed me off and I just told her straight she was upseting me by comparing her daughter to mine and i was a bit unfair as all children develop differently! She didnt realise she was coming across like that and was genuinely sorry. ( didnt help as I had PND at the time and I was always thinking I was bein over sensitive! ) Since then, she mostly asks about my children first ( even now 11 yrs later) which makes me feel like she was just excited about the development of her child and being proud rather than being competitive. xx

firstly im sure your children will never be in prison!

its hard, there is so much competetion umongst mothers especially. its the only thing about being a mum i hate.

my eldest had alot of problems with her legs and never crawled, she didnt walk till she was nearly 3! so i couldnt really fib about her abilities, but i would of if i could of! people used to make me feel useless the way they would talk about imogens problems with her legs, like it was my fault!

i think its perfectly natural to defend our children and to not like feeling like someone is judging thier abilities!

at the same time bare in mind, her baby might be crawling now, but before long there will be something your baby does first! thats just how it is they cant all be the same can they!

i told a porky today. a friend was saying how her baby crawls all over the house and it was annoying me so i said mine did the same. this is a bad way to start isn't? im going to be one of those parents who pretends their children are at university when in fact theyre in prison. oh god
