There are some sicko's around....... sensitive content

Sorry in advance ladies but I just have to vent........... Just seem that every time I read the news there is yet even more sicko's around abusing babies and children. Just today I read about those two men who were the ringleaders in a paedophile case that involved babies, toddlers and children in Scotland and another about a man who abused his daughters in the most horrific way. I know some people will say don't read the papers but it's all over the news and radio it's hard to avoid it. I just can't understand why anyone would want to hurt something so small and innocent. Makes me scared to think about letting my son do anything when he's older. I know I can't stop him and I'm not going to try but it makes me feel stressed out to think about it. Letting him join football teams, do karate or anything like that. How do you trust anyone?? One of those men was godfather to one of the children, his poor parents must be beside themselves with guilt for leaving him with that sick b@$tard (sorry for the language but it makes my blood boil). I just cant comprehend that there are people like that around!!!!!!!

Hun there are definitely sicko's out there, but there always have been, even when we were kids! It's just that these days people make more of a big deal about it, which is a good thing, as it prevents people being able to get away with it and repeating offences! Seriously... your son will be alright. I am sure that when I was a kid there were some people who were a little dodgy, but nothing ever happened to me (though I remember feeling uncomfortable around one particular PE teacher... who took me to swimming training in his car once - he didn't do anything but there was just something about him that didn't sit right!) My mum was OK with him giving me a lift though... these days teachers can't do that sort of thing!
I would try not to worry, you would have to be really unlucky, there are so many millions of us who never come to any harm! Your son needs to do all those things and you will know if there is someone you don't trust... I can't lay my finger on it, but I just can sense people who have the wrong intentions with kids, and there are only very few of them around! Only ever met about 2 or 3 in my lifetime!
It's honestly not as bad as it seems when you consider how many people there are in the UK and how often these stories come to light. Your chances of ending up in such a situation are so so slim... don't worry!!!!
