Schools?

Our LO starts next September and we have registered for school last month - and it is all dependant on whether you live in the catchment area. We were told that you only need to register early if you are sending your child to a private school as these are not affected by the local authorities catchment area - we did this for his nursery but aren't send him to private school as its too far away from where we live. We have been told we won't know until mid feb whether he will get in to the school we would like him to go to x

it wont hurt to put it down now evan if he doesnt end up going there.i put my sons name down when he was 8months & i live opisite the school i still dont know if he will get in next september its really popular

I asked at my daughters nursery and they said the council write to you with a form the year before they are due to start school. My daughter's 2 but her birthday is the beginning of sept so she'll be 5 when she starts.

god i hope not my daughter is 2 and i havent made any move to. i thought they contacted parents to remind them? it probably does depend on different areas tho. do you have any friends who have children of around 4 or 5 who can tell you what they did? if not health visitor might know. youve got me thinking bout this stuff now! x x

Hiya just a quick question.. How long in advance do you need to get your childs name on a school list? People are telling me that I need to do it now, Hes only just 1! Does it depend on the area? and who do i talk to to find out?? Thanks x
