they are a bludy nightmare. we requested forms 4 times i think in like 6 months after lil was born and heard nothing and then gave up only to try again and end up owing them a grand coz they overpaid us. whole big drama. mind you they have been falling over themselves to sort out my tax credits since i applied as a single mum.... good luck hun- it swings on roundabouts i think some people say they been great others say they as useful as a chocolate teapot x x

I applied for Child Tax Credit 5 weeks ago, thought it was never received so contacted them to request a new form. Got the form finally in post last week, late due to postal strikes, but thankfully didn't need to send them off as checked bank account this morning and a large sum of money was sitting there from them. Still don't know what it consists of as the paperwork but of got caught up in these strikes. So far plain sailing from my point of view.. might change next month once hubby starts temp work for Xmas!
i renewed mine earlier in the year, i did it over the phone which took minutes and any changes where made in time for my next pay day the following week. If it a new claim you are doing i would allow a couple of weeks after you sent the form in. If your worried bout it give em a ring find out what is going on. x
i reqeasted my forms about 2 1/2 weeks ago and got them through the post this morning. i want hold my breath for them to be agreed anytime soon. my poor sister changed her details 6 month's ago as she moved in with her partner who is in the american air force currently serving in Iraq, he hasn't been able to send her any money since he has been out there and she hasn't had a penny from tax credits in almost 6 month's the military pay the rent and electric but she has to pay for food, nappies, clothes, her car running costs, her phone and childcare from her part time wage. she is a beauty therapist and works on commision so if my 1 year old neice is poorly my sister doesn't earn a penny. i went food shopping with her the other week, she only picked up some nappies, milk, and some brocolli, mince and potatoes when she got to the till she realised that she didn't have enough money so i payed for it all. i don't always get on with my sister but i can't have them starving. i couldn't hold back the tears when i got home. she has been on the phone to them for hours on end trying to get an answer but nothing. she gets paid between 3and 400 a month plus child benifit, how can she live on that? it makes your blood boil, it is'nt like she hasn't paid taxes since she was 16.
I've had to renew my claim recently as my OH's hours of worked changed and they sorted it out pretty quickly, about a week I think. You could always give them a ring hun and they'll let you know when to expect your payments to start. x
Just wondering if any one has claimed lately and how long it took to come theough?! x
