I have a 4 month old who still isn't sleeping through the night, I got about 7 hours at a time for a little while but now he's waking up every 3 hours ish.. Im breast feeding so just bring him into bed with me. I started weaning him aswell as he was definately ready-trying to grab my food, very excited when we were eating and hungry regularly, his brother was weaned at 4 months too. The only thing I can think of is maybe he needs changing more regularly than I do in the night, very wet in the mornings.. Any suggestions? Emily
hi hun,my youngest daughter isn't sleeping through, shes 20 weeks now and started to at 17 weeks but then at 19 weeks had a operation and its knocked us back to square one.i know his very young but routines are brilliant froma young age,my eldest was sleeping through at 5 weeks because of the whole bed, bath routine thing but its not so easy when the next one is a cleft baby.get a good book about it hun,iv got one and il dig it out and find the name and author, its brilliant, gives you loads of diff tips whether breast or bottle, children with disabilities and loads more.anythings worth a try right?
by the way i spoke to my hv about mine not sleeping through and apparently anyone with a baby sleeping through before 6 months is very lucky anyway and they wont introduce sleep managment until that timexx
Thankyou, yeh that'd be good with the book,-I know what you mean, he is still so little so not stressing too much about him not sleeping, its when you start wondering why and when they were going thru and then start waking up again, etc.. But you have given me and idea with the bath time, I have been doing it during the day just for convinience with toddler around but he does settle well after one so I might change it to night time! And maybe teeth, will see! Thanks again! Em x
My LO is the same. He's 18 weeks, started sleeping for 7 - 9 hours at 8 weeks old but now we're back to 3 - 5 hours. He's breastfed too. I was hoping that when he starts on solids that he'll sleep better again but after reading your post, maybe he won't! The only suggestion I have is, is he teething? He could be waking with sore gums rather than for a feed. Good luck
Georgie is a chunky baby, (born 9 lb 3!) And already seems like he wants more food even after polishing off the whole bowl!!so might want more.. But, I think you're right actually about teething again, he is biting down on my shoulder again, and sore, so I think you may be onto something, thanks for reply, em x
