Thank you everyone for your advise and opinions its really settled my nerves xx
Hi,my advice for labour, is to listen to your MW (I know that sounds silly) they've has done this before (prob 100's times) and will give you the best advice. Plus if you have made a birth plan be flexable as things may have to change and I know from DS2 birth it was the fact things didn't go my way that upset me more. With DS1 I had a rough/guide birth plan and it went like clockwork! With regards to Iron tablets, have you tried the Spatone sachets (from any healthfood place) they have none of the side affects the tablets do and work just as well (in my case quicker). Hope that helps and good. Also remember at the end of it you will have a beautiful baby in your arms.
just bare one thing in mind if labour was that bad nobody would have second babies woukd they.
like everyone says when your pushing the head out it does hurt it's like a burning feeling. but as soon as you've done the head the body pretty much just slips out and when you have baby in your arms you wondered what on earth all the fuss is about.
it is not as bad as what you hear about frm ppl it does hurt i aint going to lie, but it comes and goes and is not ever lasting. i must say the support from midwives is excellent and the choice of drugs great! i was terrified b4 i gave birth everytime i saw someone i would ask them their experiance of child birth lol. i have forgot so much about any pain as its all a daze afterwards and well worth it 2. also i was on iron tablets all the way through and its defo fine doesnt affect baby one little bit enjoy ur pregnancy xxx
I agree, its not as bad as people were telling me it was. I had a hard labour aswell i was in labour for 3 days he just wouldnt budge and i really did not think it was bad! Yeah it hurts but as soon as the baby is in your arms you forget all about it! people used to say that to me and id be like oh year right course i will! but its true! I also looked up birth stories and stuff like that which i shouldnt have but i read so many and i saw that every body had differnt veiws of it. Youll be fine every minute that passes is a minute closer to your baby! Good luck!
relax hun, the baby has to come out eventually and no amount of worrying is going to change that. i had to take iron tablets during my pregnancy and my little girl is perfectly healthy. i had to be induced at 11 days overdue and i was so worried due to all the scare stories i'd heard of being more likely to need assistance like forceps or a section if your induced. it may be statistically correct but i had a 8 1/2 hour labour and managed to give birth to a 9lb 12oz baby on just gas and air, i did have five stiches but nothing to worry about:)
Hi!
I know how you feel, im 28 weeks almost, and was very nervous about the birth!
But i made an appointment to view the hospital that i was going to give birth at, and since then, i feel alot less worried, as i know where i will be going etc.
Deep down, i am nervous about the birth, but as i tell myself, theres no turning back now, this baby has to come out one way or another! But my friends who have had babies, have all said that it is painful, but as soon as you have your baby in your arms, you forget the pain! - im a woss, and dont take the pain too well! especially Needles, i have a massive fear of needles! lol But for my LO, im trying to over come it! :)
Everyone has a different labour, and some people have different opnionons on things.. i just stick my 'i'll deal with it when the time comes' hat on and smile! Lol
Good luck! xxx
In my experience birth really isn't as bad as some people like to make out! I had my first at home in a lovely relaxed atmosphere with gas and air. Obviously I was nervous but I used yoga to help me relax, you could try a yoga DVD to help with breathing techniques. When you go into labour your body just takes over and does what it's supposed to and the midwives talk you through everything. Good luck x
