you will be able to do it! just believe in yourself! and take each day at a time. gooood luck x
it is hard,i found the first week the easiest is was week 3and4 i struggled with,i just wanted to smoke so much! i didnt really notice the extra money either to be honest cause i just spent it on other things rather than saving it lol....
the hardest thing isnt giving up,its staying smoke free!
if i were you id become a bit of a recluse for a while when giving up because friends&family smoking around you just makes you want to smoke soooo much even now sometimes i look at my friends smoking and think wow that fagg looks yummy lol
but then when i think of it...i know its just not worth it! ive never regretted giving up.only ever regretted starting in the first place! x
thankyou very much, i am in the process of trying to get pregnant and the idea of giving up as well as tryin to conceive jus seems to much but im sure i defo will giv up when pregnant if not for me for the sake of my son or daughter, i jus hope i can xx

well i you smoke when pregnant it proper affects it my cousins baby is due this month and shes smoked all the way through and now shes been told the baby is really small.
I did give up for 4 years which wasn't to hard but i was proving a point to my brother as he said i wouldn't do it. I regret starting again and am struggling with giving up again but i know it is best all round, however i did find that when i wasn't smoking i still didn't have the extra money people always say you'll have as it just went on those bills that need to be paid, although everyso often i could buy my son or myself a little pressie. I would advice trying to give up and as soon as i know one way or another if i am pregnant i will stop for the sake of either unborn baby or to increase our chances of concieving. it is hard though no matter what!!
I would definitely try and stop smoking.. its easier than you think - mind over matter and embrace your new smoke free life.. you will smell nicer, you will be able to taste more and most of all you will be better off financially to buy your baby lots of presents!!
I gave up smoking a 18months ago! before ages before i even started trying for a baby, and i must say pregnant or not pregnant i trying or not trying i would recomend giving up anyway! i feel so much better,i cant even begin to tell you all the health benefits, when i smoked i honestly couldnt see what harm it was doing but as soon as i gave up i felt so much better! good luck xx
hi loopy1989 i just want to say that all though there are these statistics of how smoking harms the baby (and i respect most of them) i would suggest giving up when pregnant but i know it is not always that simple. When i was pregnant with my son i carried on smoking and actually increased (not deliberately) my intake of cigerettes, He was born with the only problem of not latching on. Saying that when i fell pregnant with my hubbys 1st baby 2 years ago i reduced what i was smoking as i dont really want to be smoking during another pregnancy and i m/c. If you are gonna stop do it before u fall if possible if u already pregnant see your gp for a safe way to stop. good luck x
