John Lewis do gorgeous teddies for new borns, with 'my first teddy' written on their foot and the year on the other foot. They are sooo soft I wanted to cuddle it all day! They aren't any more expensive than normal teddies, but could be a bit of a keepsake too. (also all toys suitable for newborns should say 'from birth' on the label, if it doesn't it's not suitable) xx

those are called comforters and are so good, all babies love them, and are safe and last for ever,
you can also get a blanket that is called a taggie. and they have tags (same as clothing tags) that are soft and they can feel those for hours,
just don't get anything that has hair that can come out .or when you tug at it remains in your hand.
anything that is sewn in is safe, and most toys have guide lines.
Aww, yes thats the name, and yes They are soo good. Her little boy loved it and its really cuddly and soft. I'd definately recommend those...x
we bought my sister in law a little blanket with a teddy head in the middle . I cant describe it properly but its really cute and we'll buy one like that for ours closer to the time. Its also suitable for newborns n made from safe materials.
