you really need to talk to her bout this- she might have real issues with watching you give birth- maybe shes very squeamish or she had a traumatic experience of her own and just doesnt want to be reminded of it again? is there anyone else would you would want at the birth? x x

would speak to her about your fears, i'm sure your mum wouldn't want to be the cause of any upset to you especially at this time, tell her how you feel and reasons why you want her there, but be prepared that she might have reasons not to be there!? it's quite a dramatic experience and while a wonderful thing to be involved in it's pretty difficult on the birth partner too, as they watch all this from almost a distance and can feel helpless and not in control/pushed out, having given birth your mum will know what it's like so listen to her with an open mind. i hope you come to a compromise and resolve this so you can get on with preparations for welcoming your baby without worrying and make alternative arrangements if you need to, ggod luck and try not to worry?! xx
