Im 28 weeks pregnant, and for the last 2ish weeks, my belly goes really out of shape! - at first i thought it was my LO stretching out on the sides, and then after a few mins it gradually went back down! My Midwife said that its braxton Hicks. - But then my friends and family keep telling me that i shouldnt get Braxton Hicks this early? Im worried now as im constantly thinking that my LO is going to come early!! There is slight discomfort when it does this, and it happens quite alot during the day. Sometimes i get period type pains for a few then they ease off too? Anyone else had this?
Hi,
Let me introduce myself, I am Alison Brown one of the gurgle experts, I am a midwife and answer some of the questions that come up on the site.
I have just notice your thread and thought I would offer some advice.
Braxton Hicks tend not to be painful and come and go irregularly they can occur at any time in pregnancy but tend to become more noticeable during the end of the second trimester, but not everyone notices them.
If there is any pain or regularity to the tightening then you should get checked out.
Hope that helps
I got braxton hicks with 1st baby at 24 weeks, I think its pretty normal but the further into the pregnancy i got the stronger they became, like an actual tightening for a minute or two but never painful x hope that helps x
braxton hicks can come on at any stage!!!
im 26+4 and i havent had any braxtons yet! but ive read and been told by a few different midwifes they can come anytime!
its not to early! xx
