my daughter is 15 weeks old and for about 7 weeks has suffered with what i think is colic. the colic drops didnt work and so after many dif types of bottles we found dr brown bottles calmed it a little. i read somwhere that they no longer get colic when they are being weaned. do you think early weaning is a good idea to get rid of colic???
i thought colic went at 3-4months :s well my daughters went at 3 month and thats what my health visitor used 2 tell me...so it might not be colic....but i dont no we all get told different things dont we but i no my daughter had it and if im honest nothing worked. i tried everything. i just used 2 cuddle her when she cried and tried 2 rock her and talk 2 her 2 try and distract her. its horrible is colic x
weaning is meant to help but 15 weeks is bit early. have you spoke to hv or doctor bout it? its a long time for you and your poor baby to go on with no break really. my daughter had it and with the help of infacol, cow and gate comfort formula and a set routine at bedtime it was practically cured. mind you it occasionally got bad again this usually turned out to be the teats in her bottles no longer being suitable- she needed the next size up as they started to give her bad wind- i was clueless lol my sister suggested that it was the teats and she turned out to be right hope u get it sorted hun it is so distressing for everyone x x
No, 15 weeks is far too early to start thinking about weaning and it could well cause problems at this age. Have you spoken to your health visitor about the colic? Baby massage is really good for colic, have you tried that? What are the symptoms?
