hi, im 9 weeks pregnant and cant keep anything down, i havent ate or drank anything for two days now, and anything that i do eat or drinks comes straight back up.. im wondering if i should do to the emergency department because im feeling quite dehydrated and not well at all. will be grateful for any advice.
I was really bad from about 7/8 weeks and had to go to hospital through dehydration. Drink as much as you can as this makes a surprisingly huge difference to how you feel. I know this is not easy. In the early weeks, the doctor wasn't too worried about my eating - just the drinking. We had to get a non-urgent ambulance as my partner doesn't drive.. the 1st crew didn't want to take me, I think they thought I was over-reacting, but 3 days later the doctor called them back again for us as I'd got so bad by then that I couldn't walk without help. So if you are feeling really bad, make sure they take you seriously. They should take a urine sample (if you can supply one!) and check the level of kiotones (not sure how to spell it) - if the level is too high & you can't keep liquid down, they'll need you to go on a drip to flush them out. Well, I'm not a doctor, but that's what happened with me.
thank you. i might ring nhs direct, cant get hold of gp at the mo. xx
Ring them then, they'll give you the same advise and quickly too usualyl!! Good luck and keep drinking!!! xxxx
Or ring NHS direct and describe your symptoms. They are usually good and give you quick advise on a call back service. They'll get a GP to ring you back and give you advise and talk you through it. Good luck. xxx

hi, generally the advise they give is to drink anyway, as much as you can, even if you bring it back up, as you'll keep some of it in. Usually they say drink coke, as it contains calories and will perk you up a bit, but in your case I'd say ring your GP in first instance, keep drinking, and eat some bread with butter, even if you bring it all back up. I know its draining. I've had it that bad, and I'm still being sick.
If you're extremely worried do go to the emergency department, but be prepared to wait and stay over the weekend, as they might put you on a fluids drip. Maybe see what your GP says first?
If you take tiny sips of maybe decaffeinated coke (for the calories) it shouldnt be so bad. Try crackers, rice, bread, mash, anything plain and non-smelly in tiny tiny portions and eat all throughout the day.hope you're better soon.
