We are considering home schooling our two boys (4 & 2) and I wondered if there were any other like minded parents out there? Please no abuse as we've already had a lot of nasty 'well meaning' people make snide comments. We have thought it through and know what we're doing. I would just like to chat to any other parents who think along the same lines.
I think it's quite a good idea. I have thought about it, as I want to raise my child bilingual, and I think it would definately benefit from home education. As long as you're confident I think its a good idea, and I dont think it makes them loners or antisocial as long as they join after school clubs. All my friendships were formed in after school clubs or my extracurricular activities and I've never had close friends from school. I'd be interested to her more from you about this!
Hi I'm still ttc but wanted to offer my support, schooling for our children (when and if we have them!) is the only major thing me and my hubby disagree on. You don't say your reasons for wanting to home school but I'm really interested in this thread to see how easy it is to do. My reasons are I HATED school, I was bullied at all schools I went to and not just pupils the teachers made my life hell too, in my eyes why would you send your kids there!! As regards to socialising I was very lucky and had swimming club, sea cadets, guides and st john ambulance in the evenings and NEVER had any problems with other children or the group leaders so I believe you can help children socialise in this way whilst learning new skills that you can't get at school. I know I won't be able to teach our children my self and had started to accept that they would have to go to school but this thread has given me a little bit of hope, Good Luck x
We home scooled our big son who is 12 now and goes to secondary school , hes not behind with any of the curriculum work , he was quiet a head with his understanding . i'd say do it , theres lots of help out there to get you started . we will be home scooling our 1 year old , till secondary school too , join a group, find out more , and dont listen to the ones who go on about social behaviour , schools dont encourage chatting and interacting there there to learn

You need to do what's best for your kids, I'll be sending mine to school as I want them to socialise with other kids but that's my opinion for my kids. I hope you don't get any abusive or nasty comments, good luck to you whatever you decide. It'll be interesting to hear from anyone who does home school x
