Iron Tablets

Hi Had a letter through from the Doctors yesterday saying. 'There is nothing to worry about, but would you please collect a prescription from reception with regards to your recent test results' As soon as i read the letter, i worried, - course i am, who wouldnt? Then i was thinking which test results? i had a blood test on monday with the midwife. I got to the docs, and she gave me the prescription, but couldnt tell me why i needed it! I got the tablets, and read the info leaflet, - Tablets are called 'Ferrous Sulphate 200mg' - the leaflet says there Iron Tablets! Im guessing that my iron levels were too low??? But i still havent had any answers back from the Doctors about this? - my midwife is now on holiday, and i leave a message for the stand in midwife to call me back and she doesnt? Was anyone else on Iron Tablets?

You can buy it in any herbel shop. Its about £7 for a months supply. You just put one sachet in a class of orange juice and drink it. It doesnt taste of anything and doesnt give you any of the side affects iron tablets do. I found it marvellous. Check with your MW or ask at the health shop if you're not sure

I was on iron tablets after my DS1 and they tried to give them to me when I was pregnant with DS2. I didn't/couldn't get on with the iron tablets as I got all the side affects from them. My MW (after DS1 birth) advised me to take a herbal drink instead, it was called spatone, I used that after DS1 and during DS2 preganncy and never had a problem with iron levels again. I will be using it if/when we concieve again.
Really? - where can you get the spatone from? i might give that a go? :)
