AT LAST

Sorry girls I have to tell some one before I burst. With our council you have to bid on properties, only the first 5 get to veiw it and if the first person takes it the second person doesnt get to veiw ect. Well last week I was 3rd and 4th and I've phoned up and I'm actually first as the people that was in front of me had been given a place from the week before. So as soon as the council have been and decorated it I can go and veiw it. I have all ready been and looked at the outside before I bidded on it and it looks ok even for a highrise flat so as soon as I veiw it i recon its a 90% chance of us taking it. Its only took a year lol but we have a place (I HOPE) and in time for Christmas save cluttering my parents house. And The little one is one in 9 days I'm so happy xxx

my local council sold all there houses to some housing association and there rubbish your either in gold (priority) silver (need housing but have to wait) or bronze(no hope!)
we was in bronze but our landlord went bankrupt and we were evicted putting us in gold and were given a 2bedroom house on the day we had to leave our old home and its £65 per week rent its a really small house no dining room & have a nice little garden but now where having a girl gonna have to move to a 3bed but were told my son & daughter can share a bedroom untill there 12!i didnt expect them to rehouse us but thought it was worth a try! 3bed houses not with a housing association are at least £125per week more than double what were paying now so dunno were we will find the extra money

our council goes on a points system, which they just renewed. we live on a top floor flat (not very high right enough, but too small for a lift) so there is no way I can get in and out by myself with a buggy! we put in for a transfer to a house, with a garden preferably, as soon as we found out I was pregnant, but got 0 points! so we've had to spend money doing up baby's room, to probably just be moved once he's born. Then, a month or so ago, I got a letter saying they were revewing the system, and pregnant women would be treated as if they alreay had kids. This is great, but it doesn't take affect until 1st December, and my due dates the 4th. So will still have to move with baby if we're lucky enough to get a house instead of a flat. I wouldn't mind staying here even if there was a park to take baby to, but there is literally nothing. No amount of phoning and explaining makes a difference either unfortunately!

Hope you get your house!!! xxx

Our Council is so different! its done by points!

They dont help either, as before i was even pregnant, they told me i have 42 points, and wasnt 'priority' But we dont have much room in my parents house! - they asked me for an interview, and the woman bascially told me that the only way to actually get a council place around where i live, is to either be Pregnant, or Bascially Polish! - With that i hit the roof and said your setting a fantastic example for Teenage girls out there that want a place of their own, but have to have a baby to get one! - that shot me in the foot 7 months ago when i found out i was pregnant and im now currently 53rd on the housing list! Been told that i have to wait until my LO is born, so i can get a 2 bedroom flat!

Roll on January!! x
