Hi I have a 8 month old daughter who has been teething since 3 months she has her bottom 2 teeth through and now the top 2 are dropping down but it is causing her to be very unsettled at night and when she wakes for a feed in the night whereas before she would settle back down now she doesn't so we have taken to bringing her into our bed as it is the only way to get any aleep. she has been on formula(Hipp Organic) since 4 months and it has been fine but this week she has started drinking the bottle and then every other feed she seems to be bringing back up, not sure if it is all teething related. I just don't want to get into bad habits but at the same time we all need sleep and I want us all to be happy!!! Any suggestions?!
Hi, my daughter is 9 months old, but when she was about 7.5 months her top 2 teeth came through and I had a quite a time with her. Many sleepless nights with colds, bad coughs etc. She was ill on and off for about 6/7 weeks & that included bringing up whole feeds. I think the 1st few times it was to do with the catarrh. I cut out dairy during this time (except formula of course!) as this seemed to make it worse. They say the best thing to do is get them to eat little and often and I think that did help. Also, I gave her some water before her milk/solid feeds and let her have a burp before taking her milk/food - this is something I did when she was little & we had problems then - and I think that helped too. I spoke to 2 other Mum's recently and they said their LOs had problems with their top 2 teeth as well.
For most times when she woke at night, I kept her in her room in the dark, minimum communication etc as I didn't want her to fall into bad habits & waking for attention, but I know it can be hard to do this especially when they bring up feeds. Calprofen 3+ months was recommended to me and I think it is good stuff.
have you considered giving her some ibuprofen before or at bedtime. its a long lasting pain killer and might just help keep her settled. one of my 3 always vomits with pain unless i can keep the edge off but she doesnt always scream or cry, she is usually out of sorts then vomits (usually during the night so all the lights go one, bedding changed etc etc)

Hi. I don't really have any advice but we are having exactly the same problem with our 11 month son. We had to change his milk to lactose free to stop him from vomitting which worked but he still wakes up and will only settle in our bed. He has 4 of his top teeth coming through at the moment. Nightmare! xx
