What milk are you using now? We've always used cow & gate. She seems to be going more frequently now but still seems make a lot of noise and squirm. I've not noticed anymore blood. I'm just a bit reluctant to give her any boiled water as the HV advised us not to when we wanted to space out her feeds, as she said it would fill her up too much and i'm just concerned about her putting on weight x
We have Lily on Apitmal. The Midwife said it would help when she was about a week but still no change in things. I just get so upset seeing her in pain xx
I have a four week old as well and I am having the same problem she is finding it really stressful going for a poo. I did notice a wee bit of blood the other day but there as been none since will be seeing midwife on Thursday so will say then. We even changed her milk to try and help but still no luck. x

Gurgle expert Liz Costagliola says 'Hi Normally I advice parents to offer cooled boiled water between feeds for babies who are constipated. However as it is affecting your little girl’s feeds and because of the blood I do think you need to take her to see your GP for a proper diagnosis. He will probably just prescribe a mild laxative, which will help her to pass a motion and then her appetite will return to normal. It is still worth giving cooled boiled water as this help to prevent it from reoccurring.
Hope she is back to normal soon. Liz'
Thank you. She seems to be going a bit more now and is getting through her feeds. No more blood either. I'm seeing the health visitor on thursday but will try and call her before.

lol, Evie is always farting loudly. It really isn't lady like!!x
Thanks for all the replies girls. Will try the suggestions and i'll talk to the H/V tomorrow. Good thing is she's feeding a bit better now so hopefully it'll all work itself out, literally!! lol xxx
i know a few people have already stated this but my little girl is 5 months and has had a problem with constipation since she was born, i was told the reason why she was first staining was because of the change in her milk ( as my baby was too hungry for breastmilk and sma gold she was put onto the hungrier baby milk at 3 weeks which was kreatine based ) i was told to use cooled boiled water but let it still be warm, that i found helped also when she was strining i was told to massage her cocksits also on the tummy just underneath her belly button but above her pelvic bone this i found also helped but the best was to hold her legs to her tummy and massage her tummy at the same time giving her boiled water in between feeds, i hope this helped
