My 6 week old has oral thrush....

My 6 week old has oral thrush, Dr has given me some drops for LO and given me a weeks worth of tablets... I am still breastfeeding but my LO is not feeding as much or for as long as usual guessing its uncomfortable for him so Im worrying that he is getting enough milk, My boobs have been swollen today so Ive had to express.. Is it safe to give him this milk?? That way I can ensure he is still getting a good fed down him.

Hi your baby’s mouth may be a bit sore and therefore affecting his feeds, but now that you’ve started the medication, this should quickly improve. It is fine to offer him the expressed breast milk, but do keep offering him the breast. If his mouth is sore he may also refuse the bottle so it may be worth just persevering with the breast feeding.
Hope he’s back to normal soon.
