I got mine backdated however when i called up for a new form to be sent out(they never received my first one) and asked if my money would be backdated the woman said the only way it would be backdated was if i put in a letter asking for it. Hope this helps.
im afraid this is true if they decide they have underpaid u u have 2 wait until april the following year wen u fill in ur returns for them 2 decide if they r goin 2 pay u ur underpayment bk but legally they dnt have 2 pay u and i have known it take up 2 9weeks 2 get ur claim up and running
Stupid place is a joke, sent my form away 6weeks and each time i phoned they have said they havnt received it. Phoned 2day and the wife said prob lost in post and she will send out antoher form for me to re-apply. It took 3weeks for the form to come first time and was hoping have the money for christmas maybe christmas 2010 at this rate!! Rant over! x
thought they backdated up to 3 months? i applied (again) as a single mum bout 3 weeks after splitting up with my oh back in the summer and they backdated it to the date i moved out. its all very confusing for me tho they send me all these letters and stuff and i dont understand alot of it- end up having to phone them and being talked through it all by some very nice patient person on the other end. good luck getting it sorted and make sure you go through the letter they send you asking to check your details and let them know straight away if theres a mistake it could cost you ALOT when they claim it all back and they go to end sof the earth to claw it all back one way or another! x x
They really should backdate it from the date you started work. Although they dont do they? However they're quick enough to claim alllll their money back should anything go wrong and it turns out you have been recieving too much. Even when its their mistake. I hope you get your money soon. :-)
No kidding! Hear so many 'sob stories' of lottery winners saying its ruined their lives! I have NO sympathy :)

aw weve had a bad week as well, we got our full £400 rent paid for becaus emy boyfriend wage is £430 a month because hes still training on the job, and i obviously dont hav ea job at mo. his wage went up this month to £580 and now we dont get any housing benefit, so we have to pay rent and bills with £580 and live off our £120 a week tax credit which in the same week we got housing benefit took off us STOPPED because we had to change a circumstance on it, so were now skint until it gets sorted, and cant pay a couple of bills... it makes me sad, money isnt happiness but it defo helps!
