I had my first proper MW appointment today at 10+5, I did a urine test and it tested positive for protein, leukocytes and blood. MW didn't explain what it meant but whats me to do another sample tomorrow. I'm worried now cos I don't know what it all means. She felt my stomach and said she could feel the womb and it was the right size etc but still worried. Any ideas? xx
She checked my blood pressure and didn't say anything, I think it was 107/70 but not 100% sure. She told me to drink lots of water so she may think its a kidney infection?? I've got to do another sample tomorrow and she said if there was anything that needed action I would be called otherwise she would see me at 16 weeks so I guess not to worrying. Thank you xx
It may mean nothing (just that result on that day), it may mean a little urinary infection (very common in pregnancy as your bladder is under more pressure, easily treated, but dangerous if left which is why they check at every appointment) I think it can also mean blood pressure problems, which they would monitor, (i think this is unlikely or she would have said your blood pressure is up.) Try not to worry, if your m/w didn't go o detail it's probably because she isn't concerned at the moment. Good luck xx
