Hi
Anyone out there with some advice please - i am a first time mummy with a 27 week old baby boy, I have him in a fab bedtime routine - bath at 6pm, bottle and goes up to his cot awake at 6.45pm then falls asleep nicley a few minutes later - fab i hear you say but he has very rarely slept through the night, there seems to be no pattern, sometimes waking at 1am or 3am etc for a bottle. I'm not sure if i am doing something wrong (some of my friends seem surprised he is not yet going through the night). I am currently trying! to wean him which is a bit hit and miss but he shows no signs of going through the night. Its not really a problem as i am used to it now but i want to move him into the nursery from our room and feel there is no point until he can go through the night.
Any advice would be appreciated.
Thanks Cassie
Have you tried putting him to bed later?? I know its prob great getting him to bed so early but it seems that he is waking during the night cos he is hungry. If you gave him a spoon feed at 6 and then another bottle between 8 and 9 you might find that he will go longer in bed at night. I have a 11 week old how has his last feed at 9, in bed by 9.30 and then sleeps til 8 next morn, its great as i didn't think i'd get him into such a good routine so soon. I know that boys tend to be hungrier as that is exactly what i experienced with my first, who insisted in waking 1-2 times a night til he was at least 9 months old!!! I feel that i am much wiser this time around (LOL)..... Good luck.
