supple joints

hi, my son was 10 weeks premature so has to have check ups at hospital every 6 months untill hes 2 years old from when he should of been born.well at his last check up a few days ago, i was told he has supple joints and that hes double jointed, which will mean he will walk late, his feet can bend right up and touch his leg :S he does walk if im holding his hands but cant balance if im not, and he also cant sit up for long unaided. she said he should grow out of it and they will harden over time. has anyone else experianced this with any of there children and how long did it take till they started to walk ect? thanks in advance for replying :) xx
