just ignore it mate my son still does it wen he cabt get his own way he soon stops wen he has hurt himself

Make sure that he doesn't have a hearing problem - might be a way of trying to dislodge what feels like a blocked ear. A quick look by the GP should do it.

I'm sure it's a phase he's going through, and I don't think he would do it if it really hurt. Make sure that everything's cushioned, I think he's probably doing it for attention and will get bored.

Definately do the beanbag routine. I did it with my son who was literally a headbanger. He used to hit his head off the wall and if he didn't do it hard enough to make himself cry he would keep going until he did!! (Why do they always do it just before an assessment & they end up with a big bruise on their head!!) Anyway don't react to his bad behaviour, just pick him up put him on the beanbag & let him ride his tantrum out in a safe place. At that age they are constantly testing the boundaries. Isn't it wonderful!!!! He will grow out of it. My boy is 11 now and he stopped last year!!! Only kidding!!! It was only a matter of weeks. The key is to be consistent & calm. Good Luck!

The beanbag is a good idea. It's probably a phase he will pass through and he's trying to get your attention. Make sure you remove anything sharp from his vicinity.

get a big beanbag and when he does this put him straight on the beanbag and let him headbut it. keep returning him to the beanbag until the tantrum passes. good luck
