Hi my son was the same a few weeks ago and yes your right there not much on the market.I did try Melthus cough linctus from boots,Its ok from 3 months and it says its relief for irritating and distressing coughs which often accompany colds.Your gp will put your mind at rest.I have started using an air purifier which stops the air in his bedroom drying out or a bowl of water in your baby's room might help too. x
Hi,when josh had his cough (which sounded really bad at times), there wasnt anything on the market for his age, and i had also read that doctors prefer a cough to clear itself (unless a chest infection), all the medicine does really is suppress it,and makes mummy feel better in thinking they are helping. Let me know how you get on, i didnt take him t the doctors,and it just cleared up on its own.

Me again!! As far as I know you can't get any chesty cough medicine for babies under 1 year. Olbas and Karvol do decongestant drops that you can put on a cloth next to his cot and I think Karvol chest rub and Snuffle Babe chest rub can be used from 3 months. I hope this helps. Lucy xx
Hi my baby has just turned 4 months and along with a bad cold he has quite a bad chesty cough too. Does anyone know if there is anything i can give him to help him. I am planning to take him to docs just to make sure he hasnt got an infection, but would like to try and help things util then.Nickyx
