If it's hot, buy one of those sunsuits - they look like wetsuits and protect your child from the UV rays. They're waterproof too so your baby can go in and out of the water. Also, all you need is a bucket and spade and a few pots that your baby can fill up with sand or bang. There's so much happening at the beach you probably won't need to entertain him.

When my boys were that age we bought a tiny paddling pool for under £5 that we could put by the pool or take to the beach and put a bit of water in to that they could get in and out on their own and splash their toys around in it, they loved it!

There are some really nice beach shelters available from baby shops that have a built in SPF factor, and I was quite tempted to buy one. They can be quite pricey (around £50) , but I found a very similar one one sale at the outdoor shop Millets for a fraction of the price. Hope that helps x

We're going on holiday to the seaside next week. Assuming the weather gets its act together, does anyone have any advice on what to do with a 10 month old on the beach? i.e. keeping him occupied, preventing him from eating sand, what toys to take/leave at home, etc.
