I disagree. I think we're living in an open minded society where individualism is celebrated and encouraged. And what better way to get your child started in a society like that by making a statement with their name.
I would want to tell everybody the names I would choose for my children... here's a few of my favourites - Thirston, Westbury and Kalico.
I'm 31 weeks pregnant. My boyfriend and I know the sex of our child and have decided on a name. A few of my other friends are expecting around the same time as me but I am really reluctant to tell them the name we have decided on, in case they want to use it too or worse still, get in the first!
Are we being over protective or do you think we have a right to be worried?
My girlfriend and i were in the same situation as you. we decided not to tell anybody the sex of our unborn child or the even the boys and girls names we were considering. I think you're doing the right thing.
Perhaps that's why children's names are getting so obscure these days, to prevent anybody else from having them??
