Over the last 2 months my daughter has had a red rash on her cheeks which over the last few days has become more prominent, i put it down to teething but i'm not so sure ?? It's like red spots and is very dry on the skin , i've been using vaseline put it hasn't helped. Was hoping it will just go but as it's looking a lot more red may have to take her to the gp?? Has anyone else experienced this??

thanks for getting back to me, you were both spot on! i took her to the gp a few days ago and it is infantile eczema, so glad as i'm such a worrier and always fearing the worst so was a huge relief ! the gp gave me some cream which is clearing the rash up (although not completely so may start using some of the oils you've used on your babies) thanks 4 advice!

My son had the same rash develop when he was about 6 weeks old. My GP said it was infantile eczema and advised me to use Diprobase which is am emoliant cream every day and use Oilatum in the bath. I also have a mild steroid cream for when the patches get really bad. I got him to put these all on repeat prescription as Oilatum is expensive. The rash cleared up in days but I have kept up the Oilatum and diprobase regime. It now only flares up every now and again enough for me to use the steroid cream. My older 2 boys also had this when they were babies but they grew out of it by the time they were toddling around. :)x

my son has a red dry rash on his left cheeck that is sometimes worse than others. My Gp says its eczema. He now is getting small blotches of it over his chest and arms. I have a cream to put on it and some oily stuff for the bath. Stop using all baby products like baby bath and powder and use only non-bio soap powders, this should help control it ;-)
