TV - good or bad?

My daughter watches TV and she loves it - and it gives me loads of peace and quiet so i can do housework and I also work a bit from home. she loves dora and peppa pig etc. is too much TV bad for her at this stage? she's 14 months... She develops very normally in every way and TV hasn't really affected her but I wonder if it does make any damage.. what do you think?

Hi Heidi- My daughter is only 26 weeks old and is a bit obsessed with the television as well. I have been told by many people (inc mother-in-law) this is bad and can damage her eyes but see it no differently than her watching the bright lights on her play gym or her toys with flashing lights and sounds. Would also love to know if this is ok for her- anyone with any idea's????
