Have you tried the on-line swimming classses for babies from newborn to 5 years old? Lots of tips and HOW TO from a swimming teacher / author. Really useful!
I have just signed up and now I can teach my child to swim.

Do be careful though, some swimming pools put in extra chlorine at certain times (i.e. school holidays). I had to take my daughter to hospital because her skin came up in a terrible rash - turned out it was the chlorine (she had been swimming loads of times before without any problem).
I've taken my baby swimming and havne't really worried too much about washing the chlorine off her, as long as she gets a bath in teh evening. I have been under the shower and she didn't mind too much but I took the brunt of the power and let the fresh water spray and trickle over her.
I have decided to take H swimming (7 months old) , and was wondering if anyone has any tips, particularly about getting the chlorine off after the swim - I dont think he will like going under the shower as it is quite powerful.
