I like it - It is on my short list - I would probably take Freddie or Alfie from it though! Put Alfred on the birth certificate so that it can grow with him xx

this isn't something i would choose but then again the names i have might not be to your taste- like paigemerlin said, it doesnt matter what anyone thinks of it, as long as your happy with it thats all that matters
i like Alfred more than Alfie , im not a fan of shortened names ending in ie or y , but its up to the individual
I think its OK but it I think its better shortened to Alf.
How about Alfie - similar thought more common.
Or you could have Archer or Archie.
Personally its not something i would choose. But i think on lots of posts its been said it doesnt matter if a name you love is not appreciated by other people. Its your child and if you look at him and think he's an Alfred, once he has that name people will accept it. Once he is Alfred you wont be able to think of him with any other name, nor will anyone else. If you like it enough then you should give him that name. I hope this helps x.
