Hi, I am having exactly the same problem as rebeccarism. I am pregnant with my second child, and used disposables with my 1st. I am really struggling as to where to start with reusables, i cannot believe how many varieties are actually available!! I was hoping to purchase a lage bumper pack rather than trying all the different brands as they are not cheap.... I plan on breastfeeding so looking at the feedback from hollysmama kushies are out of the running!! Anyone offer any more advice??
Hi, I have used reusables for both my children, my eldest is nearly two and my youngest is 6 months. I have used a mixture, Bambino Mio are prefolds, which I found to be very absorbant and better for young babies, but a bit bulky when they begin to move around.
So I also got some Motherease, which are slimmer, and my son has had no problems with them, I just use an extra cotton liner at night time. I have also used Kushies covers, which are excellent, I think they do a mixture of prefolds, shaped, and all in ones.
I've got one all in one from boots, which I think is rubbish, anything other than wee, gets everywhere, I had a horrible suprise after one afternoon nap!! Hope that helps, feel free to mail me if you have any other questions!
Hi there.I used kushies for Holly-available in starter packs at mothercare for about 40.00.they were good but not for a breast fed baby-everything leaked out the sides!!!I used them when she was older and they were great though.i also used rainbow bots which were lovely and fluffy and absorbant.now Hollys only on a nighttime nappy i bought a couple of the new mothercare all in one systems and i have to say im relly pleased with them.this is the one that most resembles a disposable i think so if you were looking for the cute factor of reusables this probably isnt the one but it is a good one. Most local authoritys have a cashback scheme for reusable nappies and also trial packs on offer.try googling reusable nappies and your area together to see what you come up with.
Have you looked in Mothercare, they have re-usuable nappies and also Toys r us in the baby section I've seen them. As for the brand you use I think it will be trial and error. I'm also wanting to use these type of nappies to see if they work out more economical and also the greener side of things. When I went to my hospital for my scan they had a display of using re-usuable nappies, so maybe speaking to one of the midwives at the hospital or your own might have some help. Good Luck
i've been thinking about using reuseable nappies for my baby this time round as i want to go greener but i'm unsure which brand is the best and as i don't know anyone who uses them i have no idea which brand to choose. Can anyone help as i really need the advise????
hi. I am 30 weeks pregnant and i have brought reusable nappies from one life. they are simple to use and one size fits all ages. My friend uses little lambs nappies and they are very good. hope this helps x
