I had planned a home birth for my first child recently, I decided at 35 wks i'd be better off at home then in hospital. When I went into labour 10 days over Due (after declining to be induced) I phoned my midwife who came out and had my whole labour at home in my birth pool with the 2 midwives and my husband, it was perfect! Unfortunatly I got very tired as I was de-hydrated (I hadn't drunk enough water) and my contractions slowed down so I transferred to hospital and my son was born 1 hour later. He was big at 9lb 8.5oz but I had my perfect labour with no intervention just gas and air and my midwife transferred with me to help deliver! I will have a home birth next time and the water birth (hopefully) I recommend home birth as you feel in total control of your own labour and birth! I only have good memories of that day.. :-)
if I get pregnant i'd like to be at home. has anyone had one?
Hi are there any Home Birth mums or people planning home births??
