My one year old used to be an angel and suddenly it's all gone wrong. She hardly eats anything, her bedtime milk gets pushed away, she's up at 5am ready to start the day! Is this normal? Or have I done something wrong?
you've certainly not done anything wrong hun. I think many parents know how you are feeling including me. When my daughter turned 1 she changed and got extremly independant and forcefull about things. She's now 17 months old and things have settled down loads. She's still independant and has to feed herself or she screams and she has paddys but we have turned a corner. Good luck hun, things can only get better

Hi
I totally sympathise with you!! My daughter has just turned one and is also exercising her right to an opinion! Ha ha! Emma rarely sleeps past 6.30am from 7pm and often wakes up to half a dozen times during the night! I have just this week taken her dummy off her as it was no longer helping her sleep but more causing her to wake up each time she lost it!!
Emma can be difficult to feed sometimes but I have found that if I give her a spoon (or sometimes even two!!) she can feel like she's feeding herself whilst I'm spooning it in her mouth almost without her noticing! Finger foods are also good as she is asserting her independence but still getting food into her. Emma varies with how much of her bedtime milk she will have, sometimes its 8oz and still sucking and other times it's hardly an ounce! I always used to worry about wether or not she would sleep through the night without the milk but she spent the night at my friend's house the other night and totally refused her milk but still slept all night so I don't worry now. Just persevere and things will settle down again I'm sure.
Stay in touch and let me know how you're going.
Lucy xx
