I thihnk it depends on you and your mindset and what your first born is like. Mine is hyper and so I'm leaving it a bit longer - at least until she's out of nappies and at pre school a few mornings a week. But some say get them over and done with quickly, and others say any time as long as it's not when the first child is 2! Go for it when you're ready.

Is there a recommended time (gap) between babies? I am thinking 18 months - but some people recommend longer
